Mobility Training
Age Powerfully:
Blueprint Programs
“Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler”
~Albert Einstein
I take a holistic functional approach to unlocking your mobility, health and vitality by looking upstream at the fundamental elements of movement, nutrition and lifestyle medicine. Fixing these foundations is the most efficient way to restore your balance, energy and well-being.
Starting without a solid foundation can leave you feeling frustrated, stuck and hopeless. It’s like building a home on sand. Building on a solid foundation means you can restore your balance, energy and well-being as simply and efficiently as possible.
With over 35 years of experience and a love of learning, I educate you on the science of moving, eating and living well that are the cornerstones to aging powerfully yet are commonly overlooked.
It all starts with understanding and practicing principles that are foundational for balance, health and well-being yet are often overlooked because they are simple. We are conditioned to believe that being healthy and aging powerfully has to be complicated.
Looking at how simply Blue Zone centenarians live, we understand the power of lifestyle medicine to live well, longer.
Being empowered with the knowledge and understanding of what your brain and body demands are to age optimally, you will have the key to jumpstart your wellness journey to live independently with more confidence and joy. Taking action in a progressive sequence will save you time, energy and money so you can feel, move and live better in less time.
Mobility Training
After the age of around 55, it is common for balance to slip away quickly, increasing the risk of falls, limiting mobility and threatening independence and well-being.
This simple balance test can predict how long you might live.
Can you stand on one leg for 10 seconds?
A
recent study
shows being unable to stand on one leg for 10 seconds is linked to double the risk of dying prematurely in the next 10 years. This is not meant to be scary since balance can be improved with training. It simply highlights how important it is to be able to balance if you want to live fully.
Common balance and mobility dysfunctions start from the ground up and include:
Stiff ankles
Unstable feet
Weak muscles: lower and upper legs, hips and core
Impaired sensory systems:
vision (eyes), vestibular (ears) and proprioceptive (joints)
Overpronation: duck feet
Recent or old injuries: ankles, knees and hips
Poor posture
Rounded shoulders
Forward Head
Impaired body awareness
Slow connections between brain and body.
Shallow breathing
Tissue tightness and tension
Stress, strain and pain
Chronic ankle instability
Inactivity
Loss of balance and
confidence
Fear of falling

Mobility Training
Restore your balance and confidence
“Moving well is the most powerful nutrient for your health, vitality and longevity.”
Balance is a sense that lives in your brain. How well you move depends on the quality of the sensory input from your eyes, ears and joints. It is common for these sensory systems to become weaker with age. Restoring joint mobility and stability from your feet to your core means faster brain and body connections. This way you can move steadier, safer and faster to rescue yourself from a fall. Moving more efficiently means you can enjoy more energy and confidence without the pain.
